Simply for Strings, Australia’s premier specialist string instrument store has been awarded its second national retail award for 2018.
Simply for Strings was awarded the Australian Retail Association’s Independent Retailer of the Year Award at Melbourne’s prestigious Myer Mural Hall.
“Well done to the amazing team Simply for Strings – two awards in one year for retail excellence is no easy feat. So stoked with what we’ve achieved.” – Toby Cumpstay.
Earlier in the year, Simply for Strings was awarded the National Retail Association’s Small Retailer of the Year Award. These awards are awarded based on strict criteria and achieving both in the same year is a huge coup. Operating a store in the retail realm is simultaneously rewarding and challenging for business owners. Operating independently since it’s inception, Simply for Strings has developed in-house workshops, customised to individual customer preferences, demonstrating innovation and appreciation for exceptional customer experience and care, orchestrating the perfect harmony for success.
Since the formation of the company in 2005, Simply for Strings has continued to overcome obstacles and turned potential obstacles into prospering opportunities. From mobile business driving from town to town across Queensland and NSW, Simply for Strings is now housed in the ‘Old Church’ in Red Hill. For string musicians across Australia, this well-known location has become synonymous with a world-class range of string instruments and accessories. The inspiring showroom has become a hub for string musicians across the country. The store’s highly-trained, dedicated staff provide instrument sales expertise, repairs and servicing.
It’s not the only accolades that have been heaped upon the small business based in Brisbane; co-founder Anna Andriolo was recognised earlier in 2018 as one of Business Queensland’s 100 Faces of Small Business. Simply for Strings is also a top-four finalist for the Small Business Achievement award, which is awarded by the Queensland Community Achievement Awards and Awards Australia.
Simply for Strings has recently launched a community instrumental music program, donating repaired string instruments to those in need. This program has so far donated over fifty instruments to much-needed recipients across Australia from indigenous communities in far north QLD to growing programs abroad in Vanuatu. In addition to our community instrumental music program, 2018 was the inaugural year of the Simply for Strings Aspiring Musicians Award – two young Australian musicians who display outstanding passion and potential have become benefactors of one of two high-quality violins that they will possess for the school year to help propel their playing to the next level.
Simply for Strings continuously strives to provide excellent customer service to string musicians around the country, with more products, events, and services in the pipeline for 2019. The future is sounding better and better for Simply for Strings!
